A legacy continued, a vision renewed.
The practice was originally established in 1989 by Dawid van der Merwe, who successfully developed and grew the business over more than three decades. Under his leadership, the practice earned a strong reputation for delivering consistent, relationship-driven financial advice.
Dawid retired in May 2024, marking the conclusion of an exceptional career and the beginning of a new chapter for the practice. In 2024, Louw Lubbe formally assumed ownership through a structured transition from Dawid — ensuring continuity for existing clients while positioning the practice for future growth. Today, Louw Lubbe Financial Planning continues to uphold its legacy of trusted advice — combining decades of experience with a forward-looking approach to personalised financial planning.
Executive Financial Adviser — Vaal Maluti.
Louw joined Old Mutual Personal Financial Advice in January 2002 from African Bank, where he was recruited as a Business Manager in Vanderbijlpark. Over a distinguished 22-year career in management, he has demonstrated consistent leadership excellence and a strong commitment to client outcomes.
His achievements include being awarded the prestigious Old Mutual Chairman’s Prize in both 2016 and 2019 — recognising him as the number one Business Manager within Old Mutual nationally. Throughout his tenure as Business Manager, Louw also built and maintained his own client base, grounded in long-term relationships and professional advice. In 2024, he formally assumed ownership of the practice through a structured relationship transition from Dawid van der Merwe.
